Second Chapter of Acts was the Jesus Music and an early Contemporary Christian Music group comprised of sisters Annie Herring and Nelly Greisen and brother Matthew Ward. It began performing around 1973 and enjoyed their period of greatest success when you took a 1970s. A class action disbanded around 1988.

History
2d Chapter of Acts began following of a trio singing home together when Annie played the piano. Nelly & Matthew got moved witharound by using Annie & her married man, recording engineer & producer Buck Herring when becoming orphan in 1970.

Across the contract intended by Pat Boone, the class actiin freed 2 singles on MGM, "Jesus Is" (1972) and "I'm So Happy" (1973). Second Chapter of Acts too come to the attention of 1960s folk singer Barry McGuire, who was preparing to record his number 1 Christian music album, by Buck Herring. A sib provided background vocals for Seeds & McGuire's 1974 follow-up Lighten Higher.

It freed their number one album, By having Footer, within 1974. This album featured "Easter Song" which would get the signature piece for the class action & has been recorded by numerous more creative person since. This was followed higher sustaining In the Volume of the Book inside 1975, the month that too saw the release of a survive album by owning Barry McGuire, To the Bride. As well known as on the album were a musicians itinerant by owning the 2d Chapter of Acts, "a band called David". These albums were issued by Myrrh Records. A class action toured sustaining McGuire intermittently for tercet years

the class actiinside went on a traveling hiatus in 1976. Annie freed her number 1 solo record on the Sparrow Records label founded that year per executive world health organization got signed the two to the Sweet cicely label, Billy Ray Hearn. For the Summer of 1977, it were joined in an 18-city tour by Phil Keaggy and a symptom was the survive triple album, How else a West Was 1. Their locate Sweet cicely fulfilled, it moved en masse to Sparrow.

Their Sparrow debut, Mansion Builder (1978) was followed up by having Roar of Love (the construct album inspired by C. S. Lewis' A Lion, a Witch, & a Wardrobe), Rejoice, Singer Sower, & Together Survive (by owning Michael & Stormie Omartian). Second Chapter moved to their have Survive Oak label using a release of Nighttime Weak within 1985, and their final recording of original poop, Faraway Stores.

Second Chapter of Acts broadened their appeal by having a release of Anthem & Hymns Two, reaching audiences by using additional traditional music. Anthem has proved to become their right-selling release.

Except for the sabbatical season within 1983, 2nd Chapter of Acts continued to tour until 1988. Their final concert was inside Houstin, Texas on August 12 of that season.

Second Chapter was recognized per Gospel Music Association in 1999 by their induction into its Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Annie & Matthew besides recorded many solo projects in a period of the 2d Chapter of Acts years. Each keep around continued to release fresh lesson & perform concerts when of 2005.
